Open Studios THIS weekend and STEUER ARTNews…

If you’re in San Francisco this weekend, I’ll be hosting Open Studios in Studio 1 at the same great old industrial building I’ve been in for the past 8 years, Workspace Limited at 2150 Folsom Street (between 17th and 18th). Between noon and 6pm on Saturday and Sunday I’ll be in my studio, showing new work created with traditional and […]

October 2014 STEUER ARTnews (new date for talk!)

Posted in News, Newsletter

It didn’t seem like a good idea to ask Bay Area residents choose between attending my presentation or watching their beloved San Francisco Giants in the World Series… And so, we rescheduled “New Groundbreaking Illustrator Features and WOW! Creative Fun” for November 5, 6:30pm, at Adobe (RSVP on the ILUG Meetup page). Now that we’ve […]

So much to catch you up on!

As I roll towards the end of a really, really (really) busy time, I can finally send this update on what’s been going on. The biggest announcements are an update to the Adobe Illustrator WOW! series in PDF booklet form, and the release of the second in my two-part online video course on Artistic Painting […]

End of an era…

I apologize for the delay since the last post. Last week our beloved almost 18 year old cat, Bear, died. When her brother died a few years ago, Bear valiantly “stepped up” to help fill the void Puma left behind, but now with both them both gone… well it’s been a tough week.

Profile of our sweet Bear while she was young and “robusto”

Our Bear the cat is all fur and bones now at almost 18, but she was once plenty “robusto.” In fact there was a period of time when we had to put her on a diet and called her “Little Lotta” (which you’ll get if you’re old enough to remember and were in the cultural […]

Art from the past: one of my old paintings in my brother’s dining room…

My brother Arthur and his partner Christina, have always been collectors of my weirdest paintings. One of my 0dd paintings (from a couple of decades ago) is hanging in their dining room in Brooklyn. Nearby you’ll see one of the wonderful “man lamps” that Arthur picked up for a song. Well, although he is a […]

Casper the friendly…Schnoodle!

Here are a couple of sketches from yesterday’s #SFSketchers Meetup in Polk Gulch. First we went to the new “City Streets” show at the STUDIO Gallery. Then we all went across the street to sketch from the café across the street. Mary, one of the other sketchers, brought her Schnoodle—a rescue from a Schnauzer-Poodle puppymill. […]
